We have an exciting opportunity available within our Reception Team at Evelyn Medical Centre.


We are located in Hope Valley in the stunning Peak District which has stunning views for your journey to work.

You will have busy but varied days which is well supported by a friendly team and a cup of tea


Hours: 16-25hrs per week

Main duties of the job
To facilitate patients accessing the clinical care provided by the practice.

To support the GPs and Nurses in providing that care.

To act as first point of contact for anyone accessing the practice

Job description
The following are the core responsibilities of the Receptionist. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other asks.

This will be dependant upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.

Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.

Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with callers' requests appropriately.

Signpost patients to the correct service.

Initiating contact with responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies.

Clinically code data on EMIS.

Photocopy documentation as required.

Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required.

Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary.

Direct request for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors' letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team.

Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.

Maintain a clean, tide, effective working area at all times.

Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards.

Support clinical staff with general tasks as requested.

Support administrative staff, providing cover during staff absences.

Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients' healthcare records.

Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.

As required support Dispensary in the management of repear prescriptions, ensuring they are processed and accurately and efficiently.


Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Desirable

  • AMSPAR Receptionist qualification
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and social care

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working with the general public

Desirable

  • Experience of administrative duties
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
