    Senior IT Support Engineer (Helpdesk/Field based)

    Belfast, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

    About the Job

    We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Support Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our customers.

    • Technical support helpdesk in east Belfast office/customer premises/from home
    • Ensure all support tickets are closed as quickly as possible to the satisfaction of the customer within the SLA
    • On-site call outs only where absolutely required and approved (by Line Manager & customer)
    • Proactive preventative maintenance on customer networks
    • Identify opportunities with existing customers for additional services/equipment/consultancy
    • Promote the Precept brand as much as possible
    • Online marketing/telesales to generate sales leads
    • Attend pre-sales meetings and customer review meetings
    • Become a subject matter expert on Precept services
    • Keep abreast of new technology/solutions/methods and make suggestions to improve Precept's approach

    • Windows server & Small Business Server
    • MS Exchange server
    • Networks and Cloud managed firewalls
    • Antivirus - BitDefender/Trend AV/Avast/AVG Cloudcare, Trend, Symantec
    • Remote Access Utilities - Logmein.com, Teamviewer, MS Remote Desktop
    • Precept's own in-house systems based on Linux, DRBD, Opensense, TakeControl, think Backup, think MailGuard, thinkSMS, web hosting (ispconfig)
    • Desirable technology experience: Cisco and major firewall experience

    Requirements

    1. VMware and equivalent
    2. Linux experience
    3. Hardware maintenance
    4. Web development using Wordpress or Wix

    Preferred Experience

    IT Helpdesk Engineer: 1 year
