We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a UK leading manufacturer's team at their site in Cannock.

This role is on a permanent basis.


Business Development Manager's salary and core times of work:

  • Salary: circa £32,000 per annum (D.O.E)
  • 8:30am 5pm, Monday to Friday

Business Development Manager's job description:

Reporting into the Sales Director, you will be responsible for researching, managing and developing sales opportunities.

This position is ideal for an energetic, target driven sales manager who can also provide day-to-day account management for existingcustomers whilst searching for new opportunities.

The Business Development Manager will have responsibility for customer satisfaction and resolving any customer queries through the appropriate channels.

You will be working closely with new and potential customers to ensure our client is the first placecustomers contact for their purchasing needs.

You will provide regular updates and reviews with customers to ensure the business are meeting and exceeding their requirements.


Key job duties will include:


  • Proactively search for and work with new and existing clients to develop strong relationships
  • Execute set sales plans, to help support the sales team objectives.
  • Conduct customer visits and provide market expertise to them
  • Actively communicate and educate prospective and existing customers on products and/or services that meet their needs.
  • Be fully aware of your targets and your performance against them, strive to exceed your monthly targets and sales revenue
  • There will be some travel to customer sites (there is use of a pool car, but no car allowance)

Business Development Manager person specification:


  • Business development experience in the automotive manufacturing, and/or engineering sector is essential
  • Must be a quick learner to pick up the details/information of the products our client sells
  • Proficiency in account management is essential
  • Exceptional communication skills to build trust, rapport and relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to assess customer requirements and present beneficial solutions to them
  • Must have computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
