The role:

Junior QA Engineer


Reporting into:
Head of Engineering


Location:
office in London, this role can be 100% remote


Salary:
£25,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

The company:

Their product helps with crisis and incident management to keep people safe in the renewable energy and oil sectors. They don't write software for oil companies, it's purely to help people stay safe.

They're phasing out their legacy system and replacingwith a new global system, so currently they're working heavily on integrations and from Q2 will be developing brand new products.


The team:

Their tech team is split into Mobile, Frontend, Backend, Platform and QA.

They're a scale-up with circa 100 people in the business, around 25% of these heads work in the tech team.

Their technologists are largely at senior level, so now they're looking hiresome leads and juniors-mids to establish more of a structure internally.

Everyone works closely and collaboratively together, which is why they evaluate collaboration skills highly in the interview process.


The role:


You will begin as a Manual QA Tester, and join two senior engineers, as they build out the automation practice.

Once the automation practice is built, the two senior engineers will then train the two junior QA's in automation testing, and the role will developinto an Automation Test Engineer.

We are looking for pro-active and eager individuals who are looking to develop a career in Automation Testing, and have a thirst for learning You do not have to have automation test experience, however, this will be a bonus.


Tech environment:


On the backend they use Java and Spring Boot (as their environment is microservices), they may introduce new languages in the future, eg Python for data processing.

They use React on the frontend, and for mobile development they've recently introduced Flutter.

They use AWS, however aren't doing anything too complex with this just yet - the plan is to introduce Serverless in the future.
