The Tutor will prepare and deliver English and Mathematics qualifications to a small group of learners as part of their programme of study.

Delivery of GCSE and/or Functional Skills will be required.

The post holder will work with colleagues to ensure that all learners requiring English and/or Mathematics provision are guided to the most appropriate qualification and level.


Specific duties:


  • Assist in maintaining a positive culture encouraging the development of English and Mathematics amongst staff and learners
  • Prepare and deliver English and Mathematics provision leading to discrete and/or embedded qualifications
  • Produce and develop high quality teaching and learning materials using a variety of methods
  • Any other duties consistent with the general responsibilities of the post as may be required from time to time in addition to those listed above. This can include cover for absent colleagues

Essential:


  • An appropriate Teacher Education qualification / or working towards
  • Level 5 CPD Numeracy / Literacy or Degree level qualification in English / Mathematics or working towards

Successful teaching experience in this curriculum area, ideally in a variety of settings (Independent schools, PRU's, colleges):
