Background
The Centre for Sport, Physical Education & Activity Research
_spear_) has a national reputation for excellence and innovation.

We are a proactive, dynamic unit responsive to existing and emerging public health, sport and physical activity strategies and priorities and our work has made a significant contribution to the evidence base, particularly around the physical activity, health and wellbeing of young people, underrepresented and less active populations.

The Centre's research is funded by a range of private, public and third sector organisations including the Youth Sport Trust, Department of Health, Department for Education, parkrun UK, Premiership Rugby, Chance to Shine, Sport Birmingham, Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation, Mencap and ukactive.

_spear_ is located within the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Social Sciences and comprises a team of experienced core staff, with staff from across the University joining the


The Role
Applications are invited for the position of
_spear's_ research activities. Activities include bid development, project implementation, analysis, report writing, publication and dissemination. The postholder will also support the Centre's research-enhanced offer to students.

This post is particularly suitable for a developing researcher with a passion for conducting robust, impactful research that informs policy, provision, practice and participation in physical activity, health and wellbeing and an emerging track record of publications in related areas.


The Person
Applicants should have experience of research in physical activity, health and wellbeing and have a master's or equivalent professional experience in an area related to
_spear's_ research activity.
