Teaching Assistant - Secondary School

Do you have experience supporting children and young people with additional needs?This large secondary school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide 1-2-1 support for students who have a range of additional needs including Autism, AHDH, Dyslexia andanxiety.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be working with a small caseload of children who have additional funding for classroom support.

Joining this Secondary School, you will be part of a fantastic SEND team and will receive excellent support from the SENCO and Inclusion leaders.

This school has access to a range of excellent resources and facilities that will allow you to provide studentswith outstanding support.

This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who has excellent communication skills and a passion for helping young people to overcome barriers to education.


Job Role:

  • Supporting on a 121 basis within a classroom setting
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs
  • Delivering intervention sessions for students who have fallen behind
  • Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for students
  • Breaking down barriers to communication and managing behaviours
