    Principal Civil Engineer - Electrical Substations

    Sector Overview:

    Civil & Structural Engineering, MEP and Fire Engineering

    Working Hours: 8:00-18:00 (Mon/Thurs), 8:00-16:00 (Fri)

    We are seeking a highly experienced Principal or Lead Civil Engineer to join our team specializing in substation and electrical infrastructure design.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a Lead or Principal Civil Engineer to join our new and developing team within electrical infrastructure and substation design. You will work with clients across the UK on civil and structural elements for new builds and upgrades to substation and transformer infrastructure design.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Degree level qualification or HND in Civil or Structural Engineering
    • Preferably IEng or CEng professional qualification achieved
    • Substantial experience with substation design and reinforced concrete, heavy civils, and development civil infrastructure
    • Experience with contractor design approval engineering (CDAE) as defined by National Grid's TP137 procedure
    • Familiarity with UK environmental and waste management legislation and requirements
    • In-depth knowledge of National Grid's Transmission Procedures, including TP106, TP135, TP137, TP141, TP153, TP184, TP188, TP219, TP221, TP235, TP241

    Requirements:

    • Ideal candidate should be based within commutable distance to Manchester, but candidates from further afield will be considered
    • Hybrid home-office working arrangement with flexible working options
    • Salaried or contract (Outside IR35)
