Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract at HMP Altcourse and to ensure the continued quality of care we are looking for a Podiatrist to support us and the existing teams to work 1.5 sessions per week.

There is no on-call or weekend work to allow for a strong work life balance


You will be part of a forward thinking, innovative health care team, including GPs, nurses, pharmacists and mental health professionals, delivering high quality, best practice treatment.

You will be closely supported and mentored by our Clinical Lead, and this combined with our well-developed appraisal system, in-service training and funding for external clinical courses, you will be provided with an excellent supportive learning environment.


About You:

This role requires the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the offender healthcare setting who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnosis and clinical treatment indicated, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.

With this in mind, you will be HCPC registered with post registration experience assessing and treating MSK conditions in an outpatient setting.

You'll also be self-motivated with excellent communication and organisational skills.

About Us:


HMP Altcourse is a Category B men's private prison and Young Offender Institution in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool in Merseyside, England.

It has an operational capacity of 1164 people and houses 7 residential units, a 12 bed inpatient unit, as well as an-site dispensing pharmacy.

HMP Altcourse is a 20 minute drive from main train stations and is located closely to Aintree University Hospital.
