Engineering Manager

Cwmbran

£60,000 + Up to 15% bonus

The Role:

The Engineering Manager provides leadership across all engineering and maintenance related activities, ensuring compliance and driving for improvements and best practice across the Cwmbran manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:

Optimal alignment of maintenance with the indicated production and asset strategy, the logistics planning and the production planning, and the relevant internal and external regulations on quality and safety
The effective and efficient balancing of maintenance supply and demand in the medium and long term, as regards both quantity and quality
The organising of maintenance in the most effective and efficient manner
Coaching and developing maintenance department employees; guiding the team in such a way to attain the highest service level; and ensuring that the competency level of the team is continuously improved by providing the necessary (internal and external)training
Monitoring the facilities and staff on the shop floor.
Drawing up and managing the maintenance budgets and targets. Reporting and managing the related KPIs
Monitoring the financial flow through the organisation from ordering to invoicing for maintenance related expenditures

Qualifications & Experience Required:

At least 3 years of managerial experience leading a department and direct reports.
Ideally degree/HND educated (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
A demonstrable passion for Continuous Improvement and the ability to example cultural change within an engineering team.
Strong leadership skills are a necessity for this position
Knowledge of preventive & predictive maintenance techniques as well as autonomous maintenance principles
Knowledge of RCM, Lean Maintenance, VDM is a plus
