We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and professional team at a primary school in Egremont.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the teaching staff and pupils in the Key Stage 1 classes.

Your primary role will be to assist the class teacher in providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for pupils aged 5-7.

This will include providing 1:1 and small group support, helping to prepare and set up class activities, and providing feedback to the teacher on the progress of individual pupils.

You will also be required to supervise pupils in the playground and during lunchtimes, and provide additional support, such as phonics and reading, to pupils who require it.

You must be able to use your initiative and think on your feet to respond to the changing needs of the pupils and school.

Previous experience of working in a primary school setting is desirable

As a Teaching Assistant working, your duties may include:

Assist the classroom teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
Lead small group or individual instruction as assigned by the teacher.
Provide additional support to students who need extra help.
Help supervise students in the classroom, playground, cafeteria, and other areas.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Assist with record keeping and other administrative tasks.
Prepare teaching materials and classroom displays.
Assist with setting up and tidying up the classroom each day.
Supervise students on field trips and other schoolsponsored activities.
Provide individual attention to students who need extra help

The requirements for this role are:

GCSE English & Maths
Preferably qualified to an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
Experience working with children
Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents and staff
Possess strong organizational, communication and problemsolving skills
Understanding of classroom procedures and policies
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
