Description

On behalf of the Production Shift Team Leader, The Production Team Member is a key role responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation and maintenance of the CDC plant, remote operation of Killingholme OCGT and monitoring of the Gas Pipelines.

This involves ensuring the necessary operational and commercial procedures are followed and ongoing performance is monitored and reviewed.

Your responsibilities

  • Actively promote a culture of health, safety and environmental awareness and seek out improvements in safety performance at CDC.
  • Actively fulfil the role of process owner or manager on all identified Uniper policies & procedures relevant to role.
  • Input, support and challenge the contents of your Teams activity plan, business plan and any other associated activities.
  • Operating within the levels of delegated authority where nominated.
  • Enact the role of Control Person as required by the Shift Team Leader.
  • Optimise plant availability and performance.
  • Effectively interface with external stakeholders e.g. Uniper Global Commodities and National Grid.
  • Responding to plant failures.
  • Producing Procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
  • Managing and monitoring contractors' performance.
  • Competent to remotely operate KH from CDC
  • Monitor Gas Pipelines and act as first emergency response.
  • The role holder may be required to rotate into the Production Day Engineer role as required by the business.
  • Other responsibilities as defined by the Production Shift Team Leader

Your profile

  • Educated to BTEC ONC Level or NVQ 3 in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Ideally have experience in both Power Plant maintenance and operations.
  • An understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and standards.
  • Have a strong safety awareness and the ability to drive the correct safety culture in others is an essential part of your make up. IOSH Managing Safely preferable.
  • Be able to understand and retain knowledge of Uniper current policies and procedures.
  • Confidence to challenge established practices, suggesting imaginative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to deliver the role whilst demonstrating flexibility, initiative and high levels of selfmotivation and enthusiasm.
  • Able to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions.
  • Be able to understand the importance of delivering against customer expectations and the impact of varying from the Market requirements.
  • General business awareness of CCGT assets and their role within the UK energy market.
  • Expectation to attain HV SAP status, and control person status as a core requirement of the role.
