£100,000 - £130,000 + Equity
I am currently partnered with a global leading Data platform specialising in the financial services industry. The role is reporting directly to the Chief Data Officer and co-founder.

As Head of Data Engineering, you will be critical in developing and delivering the financial data platform, especially the data products and solutions.

You will also have an essential role in expanding and mentoring the data engineering team, ensuring thatthey are set up for success as they continue to grow, and working with the wider software engineering team to solve brand-new challenges.


About you:


  • Experience in a (Senior) Data Engineering role
  • Experience with Python, including knowledge of core libraries including NumPy and Pandas.
  • Experience handling realtime data, managing data pipelines over time, and evolving them to support new requirements
  • Comfortable with anticipating, preventing, and solving complex data problems
  • Comfortable with taking ownership, and proposing adjustments and improvements
  • Experience guiding and leading a team with an understanding of how to utilise talents and strengths across the group. You will also be tasked with hiring in to this team as the business grows.

What you will be working on:

  • Mentoring and supporting the Data Engineering Team, establishing best practices, and promoting the adoption of the best tools and paradigms across the company
  • Collecting use cases and requirements from the wider data team; and translating use cases, pain points and success criteria into technical requirements
  • Designing, building, maintaining, and upgrading data pipelines and selfservice to provide clean, efficient results
