Job Summary:


Managing and coordinating the transportation of goods via airfreight and oceanfreight, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with regulations, and efficient customs clearance.

You will liaise with clients, carriers, and customs authorities to facilitate smooth import and export processes. The role demands strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Coordinate Import and Export Operations: Manage the end-to-end import and export processes, including booking cargo space, arranging pickups, and coordinating delivery schedules.

Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing updates on shipment status, resolving issues, and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally. Build and develop strong relationships with customers.

Carrier Coordination: Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, and other transportation providers to negotiate rates, track shipments, and resolve any transportation-related issues

Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with airfreight shipments, such as delays, damages, or customs disputes, by implementing appropriate measures and contingency plans.

Cost Management: Optimize transportation costs by evaluating shipping routes, carrier options, and service levels to achieve the most cost-effective solutions for clients while maintaining service quality.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the airfreight import/export operations, and implement best practices accordingly.


Knowledge

  • Industry and operational knowledge of Airfreight import, export and crosstrade.
  • Incoterm Knowledge
  • Pricing / Quotation experience
  • Managing of suppliers
  • Customer service
  • Ocean Import, export and crosstrade experience
  • AOG industry experience
  • Competitor awareness

Skills and Abilities

  • Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management skills.

Pay:
From £30,000.00 per year
