Role overview:


We are recruiting a new member of our Marketing and Communications team to deliver and develop a wide-ranging programme of online content and communications.

The primary objectives of the role is to drive the growth of our online matchmaking platform for academia-industry collaboration; creating compelling content and delivering it through the right channels to attract and engage scientists across the research ecosystem and non-specialist audiences.

The role will report to our Head of Marketing and Communications, and work closely with our Digital Marketing Manager, and with teams across the wider business.


This role presents the opportunity to join a dynamic marketing and communications team at an exciting time of growth for the business as we work towards creating the first complete online partnering ecosystem for scientific research.

It will provide an opportunity to gain experience across a range of content/marketing channels and to experiment with new approaches in a test-and-learn methodology to validate new ways of engaging audiences across academia and industry.


Channel ownership

  • Multimedia SEO article/content pipeline (top innovation articles)
  • Monthly audience bulletin newsletters
  • Social media channels
  • Case study programme
  • Webinar content management (video/audio, uploads, edits, repurposing)
  • Managing communitygenerated content (internal authors)
  • Educational content best practices and guides (network activation)
  • Website content management and housekeeping (wordpress)
  • Blog/article production and SEO optimisation

KPIs

  • Organic search traffic and conversion
  • Social acquisition traffic and conversion
  • Lead generation
  • SEO performance
  • CTR for internal channels leading to platform activity/engagement

Skills/experience required

  • 13 years experience in a science comms or related digital content role
  • Multimedia content creation (visual assets, video, audio, online articles)
  • Online content management systems (e.g wordpress)
  • Strong knowledge of ontrend SEO strategies
  • Copywriting and science communication
  • Social media channel management
  • Basic visual design (eg. Canvas, InDesign)
  • Setup and monitoring of analytics to evaluate content performance
  • Some experience engaging with clients and external stakeholders

Approach to working

  • Commitment to a shared approach to working, building ideas and delivering projects and campaigns as part of a team.
  • Ability to work independently, autonomously and to take the initiative.
  • Professional, wellorganised and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent time/task management and prioritisation skills.
  • A global view, engaging with the latest trends in research, online communication and marketing.
