The Role
As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2, creating a stimulating, inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement, curiosity, and resilience. You will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across all areas of the curriculum, with particular focus on English, mathematics, and foundation subjects.
You will also play a key role in supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development, helping them develop confidence, independence, and interpersonal skills. Close collaboration with teaching assistants, the SENCO, and senior leadership will ensure targeted support for all pupils, including those with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons in line with curriculum objectives
Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress and attainment
Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
Using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and EAL pupils
Collaborating with teaching assistants, subject leaders, and the SENCO
Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies
Participating in CPD, staff meetings, and school initiatives
Contributing to extracurricular activities, school trips, and events
Maintaining safeguarding, health, and safety standards
The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a KS1 Teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1
Is passionate about early years education and child development
Delivers high-quality, engaging, and differentiated lessons
Has strong classroom management and organisational skills
Understands and supports SEN, EAL, and pastoral needs
Demonstrates reflective and proactive teaching practice
Builds positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
