An Assistant/Associate Professor position is available to join a team conducting research on modelling to inform decision-making in real-time during infectious disease outbreaks.

The post-holder will join a highly successful and supportive group at the Centre for Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases (CMMID) and LSHTM.


The post-holder will lead the development, validation and implementation of state-of-the-art computational tools (predominantly in R) for outbreak analysis and response.

The main duty will be to take a leading role in associated software development and generation of research outputs for validation of the tools.

Additional tasks will include engaging with collaborators to support the implementation of the tools; collaborating with partners on the development of training materials and other tools e.g., the ones being developed as part of the hubverse project for infectious disease modelling hubs.


The post is part-time or full-time FTE and fixed-term until 29 September 2024 with potential for extension, and available immediately.
