As an IAG Youth Worker you will deliver Information, advice and guidance using youth work methodology to support NEET young people to move into positive, sustainable outcomes.

You will work as part of a team to ensure that the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of Leeds Pathways Support programmes are responsive to the needs of young people and are in line with Children's Services strategic plan and priorities.

About you
As a IAG Youth Worker, you will bring to the role:

  • Be an experienced Youth Work practitioner that has the skills and ability to deliver an exemplary service to young people.
  • Have a young personcentered approach with the ability to engage with young people in a positive and meaningful way.
  • To deliver Information, advice and guidance to young people aged 15 24* (with additional needs*) to support their transition into further education, training, employment with training or an apprenticeship.
  • To hold a JNC recognised level 3 Youth Work qualification (mandatory).

About the role


As our next IAG Youth Worker you will work as part of a team to support NEET young people to identify and address barriers to accessing education, employment (with training) and training.

You will track and support a caseload of NEET Young people working in locality hubs and in the community to provide an accessible and young person-centred service.


You will work with a wide range of partners to support referrals into the Pathways team and to refer and signpost young people for additional support with appropriate agencies.

In addition, the team attend careers events, deliver groupwork and offer bespoke careers advice packages.

This role is based in the UK. Job Purpose:

To delivery of IAG support using youth work methodology and ensure that the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of Leeds Pathways Support programmes are responsive to the needs of young people and are in line with Children's Services strategic plan and priorities.


Responsibilities
Work directly with young people to develop and maintain relationships to help identify their starting points, needs and aspirations.

To work face-to-face for a minimum of 70% of the role.


To work in partnership to assess needs, provide and evaluate a well-planned and resourced programme of activities, services and facilities for young people using youth work methodology.


To carry out assessments to identify the barriers young people face to full participation and work with young people to design, agree & implement a plan of actions.


To offer impartial advice and guidance to young people about all their post 16 options so that they can make informed choices about their future.


To coordinate a list of sustained NEET young people in a locality and ensure that IAG is provided through existing professional support through attendance at Job Shops.

To contribute to departmental/multi-agency groups if required

To explore partnerships and develop them to improve outcomes for young people.


To support the youth work teams in Localities in ensuring that NEET and not known sweeps are carried out in the Locality.

To provide duty cover in hub drop in's in the Locality or City Centre


Act as a mentor, coach, and role model for other practitioners to help develop and broaden their professional youth work and IAG practice.

Manage relationships to ensure effective working with all appropriate services and partners.

To carry out tracking, monitoring, and recording in line with CCIS user rules
