POSITION


The position of Technical Consultant will be welcomed into a positive team environment, based from our head office in Chippenham, Wiltshire with flexible working from home available.


You will be an experienced Technical Consultant / Microsoft Specialist or be looking to progress from a 3rd Line IT Support background into a specialism, with a methodical approach to problem-solving who has an enthusiastic "can do" attitude.


You have ambition and a growth mindset so you will be keen to learn, progress and are willing to study to become an exceptional IT professional.


CORE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITES

  • Architect, Design, and Implement Modern Cloud IT Solutions
  • Completion of Infrastructure, Cyber Risk and Microsoft 365 Adoption Consultancy
  • Escalation Technical Resource for Project Engineers
  • Work as part of our dedicated Projects Team away from the Service Desk
  • Support and guide our customers on their Technical Roadmap
  • Work with the Projects Administrator to ensure projects are a success
  • Assist the commercial team with technical roadmaps and presales consultancy

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years' experience progressing through a service desk 1st/2nd/3rd line to Technical Consultant
  • Methodical approach to problem solving
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 including Modern Endpoint Management and Security
  • Capability in Security, Compliance, Risk & Reporting
  • Microsoft Azure (Migration, Deployment and Management of services)
  • Comfortable communicating at all levels including Management, Senior Leadership Team and Board/Directors
  • Enjoys being customer facing

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Microsoft Azure / Microsoft 365 / Modern Desktop certifications
  • Advanced networking, VLANs, STP, LACP
  • Secure networking, VPNs, ACL, IPS, IDS
  • SonicWALL security appliances
  • Experience with Azure Site Recovery
  • Microsoft SQL, Power BI, Data Visualisation
  • Penetration Testing / Vulnerability Scanning
  • Experience with Hyper-V/VMware in both onpremises and hybrid deployments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Desirable Microsoft Certifications (MS100/101, AZ104, MS500)
  • Desirable Security Certifications (Security+, CEH)

QUALIFICATIONS
No formal qualifications are required but it is important that you have some relevant technical and service desk experience.
