Role Description
Job Purpose
- The role of the Head of Commercial Seafood
- Chilled and Frozen is:
- Set the strategy to deliver the profit and loss targets for C&F Seafood through the identification and prioritisation of actions to maximise the financial performance.
- Lead the sector revenue growth management strategy (occasion, channel, pack and price) for the RGM team to deliver the tactical implementation.
- Develop the sustainability and packaging strategy for C&F Seafood, in conjunction with Packaging and CSR teams.
- Provide sector input into the Sales and Operational Planning ("S&OP") process (demand reviews, supply review, portfolio review and excess stock management).
- Lead the commercial team through the commercial transformation whilst driving improved commercial performance.
- Support the development of the C&F seafood procurement strategy in conjunction with the Group Director Seafood and then drive the implementation of this via the buying team.

Principal Responsibilities - Overall commercial responsibility for C&F seafood in the UK, including working with the Sales team and Customer Strategy and Planning Teams to deliver budgeted sales targets and profitability.
- Management of colleagues including training, work assignment and prioritisation, performance evaluation and coaching and development of team members.
- Responsibility for the relevant product portfolio, whether identifying NPD or EPD but also ensuring uneconomical products are discontinued on a timely basis.
- Responsible for the development and execution of the procurement strategy for the C&F seafood team in the UK and ensuring key stakeholders are engaged with such as Princes BV purchasing, technical and CSR teams.
- Perform as a leader of the Seafood team, ensuring at all times that the sector is operating effectively, contributing to the Group position and achieving the targets required of it.
- Expedite solutions for problems that arise in relation to projected shortfalls in volume and profit. Recommend and initiate appropriate actions in areas of responsibility to meet company and sector targets.
- Create and lead the development of the longterm sector strategic plan.
- Liaise with appropriate internal departments to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the sector.
- Professionally resolve problems both internally and externally in a fair and ethical manner while protecting the longterm interests of the team and company.
- Lead, attend and contribute to meetings that directly relate to the scope of the position.
- Promote the highest levels of motivation, demonstrating effective leadership and communication.
- Embed best practice procedures and methodology for the team.
- Support fully the efforts of other departments in achieving 100% stakeholder satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes and, where appropriate, contribute to their development or refinement to meet business needs.
