We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Theatre Team Leader to join the team at NSECH/Wansbeck in Orthopaedics.

We are looking for an experienced ODP's/Nurse to lead and manage teams trust wide within the Orthopaedic Teams.


You must be dynamic, flexible and forward thinking and motivated to drive change and creative ways of working to cover trust wide service needs.


This role will be based either at NSECH or Wansbeck General Hospital but an element of this role will feed into NSECH for out of hours cover and weekends to support our trauma service.


  • Develops implements and evaluates programmes of care for their clinical area.
  • To be responsible for the provision of nursing care and maintain high clinical standards.
  • To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC/ HPC Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Take responsibility for the management of a clinical area and take charge in the absence of the Theatre Team Manager.
  • To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
