Overview of Role


We are looking for someone who will thrive on working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Clinic Assistants, Ophthalmic Assistants, Patient Administrators, Nurses, ODPs, Ophthalmic Technicians, Optometrists, and Consultant Ophthalmologists.

You will be managing the accuracy of all patient data, including liaising with GP surgeries and clinics, ensuring that Newmedica's electronic patient record is kept up-to-date.

Clinic Assistants are the central point of contact for all telephone queries from both patients and clinic staff members.


What will you be doing?


A Clinic Assistant plays an essential and key role in the smooth running of clinics and administrative support within a theatre in order to maintain our exceptional levels of care.


  • The post holder will actively participate and assist with the effective and efficient delivery of a comprehensive imaging service.
  • They will be expected to deliver this service in close liaison with Nursing, Clinical and Optical staff whilst providing ophthalmic diagnostics.
  • Contribute to the overall good of the organisation by being a positive role model and treat all staff, patients, clinicians and service users with courtesy and respect.

  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask.
  • Enjoys working with a range of people, tailoring approach to a diversity of patient needs.
  • Outstanding telephone manner
  • Selfstarter with the ability to work on own initiative and escalate matters where appropriate
  • Works well within a tight team.
Technical Abilities

  • Firstrate verbal and written communication skills.
