Summary Description
We are looking for a Producer to join our team.

You will research, write and edit produce, inspiring short factual films for students, with an initial focus on our weekly Twig Science Reporter show.

We are looking for someone who has a genuine inquisitiveness for science and technology, who is excited to share cutting edge science stories with students.

You'll have an ability to source topical stories which are relevant to students, echoing their own experiences or expanding their horizons.

And to do this you'll be confident in digesting complex information and then writing brilliant scripts which accurately tell science stories in a way which inspires them to develop acuriosity about how the world (and beyond) functions.


Essential Job Functions

  • Develop film ideas in collaboration with teams across Imagine Learning to meet educational goals and student engagement.
  • Research and evaluate footage for use in films to ensure film ideas are achievable, and work with the Research and Rights team to ensure content is clearable.
  • Develop visual ideas and write graphics briefs to prepare scripts for edit.
  • Direct, review and provide feedback on edits to ensure continuing quality.
  • Direct voiceover artists and attend sound mixing sessions.
  • Manage communication to, and feedback from, internal and external stakeholders to ensure films are delivered for review on time, and notes are actioned with the resources available.
  • Collate and keep track of delivery, review and feedback schedules between internal departments and external partners.
  • Task manage Editors, Assistant Producers, and Researchers as required to ensure the project progresses as required.
  • Track film and project progress using the relevant systems, and provide regular updates to PM to ensure projects are delivered on time and to high standards, raising any risks to quality, schedule or budget where necessary.
  • Maintain IL Studios UK's editorial standards and production values to ensure quality and consistency, and work with QC to make improvements where necessary.
  • Review films, ensuring the very highest editorial and technical quality of our final output.
  • Perform other responsibilities within the scope of expertise.

Qualifications

  • Up to 5 years in a TV, film or related field role
  • At least 2 years professional experience in an equivalent production role (e.g. Producer, Assistant Producer, Script Writer, Director)

Desirable Skills

  • Proven research skills an ability to unearth unexpected and engaging stories
  • Critical thinking an understanding of what makes a reliable source and how to ensure legitimacy of stories
  • Excellent written skills an understanding of how to tell stories efficiently, with style
  • Excellent communication skills sharing ideas and achieving byin from stakeholders
  • An ability to tell stories in video form understanding how words and pictures work together, and how and when graphics can enhance storytelling
  • Extensive experience working within Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace
