COMPANY ACCOUNTANT

LONDON BASED
HYBRID WORKING (3 Days in / 2 Days at home)


PERMANENT SALARY:
£30,000 - £40,000

The Opportunity:


Absolute Recruit are working with an impressive high-growth construction company that's looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the well-established finance function.

The role is to take full ownership of one subsidiary within the businesswith a turnover of circa £3M and assist the Finance Director in administering the wider finance processes.


Key Responsibilities:

Month-end Duties:

  • Perform journal entries
  • Maintenance of the general ledger accounts
  • Reconciliation of major cost accounts
  • VAT/CIS returns
  • Producing basic job cost reports
Purchase Ledger

  • Take full ownership of the purchase ledger function
  • Set up new supplier accounts on "COINS".
  • In respect of supplier invoices, register invoices, distribute invoices for approval, code and cost invoices to jobs and/or overheads
  • Create and make BACS or CHAPS payments for invoices
  • Monthly reconciliations of supplier statements
  • Processing weekly staffing expenses
  • Intercompany postings and invoices
Subcontractor Ledger

  • Process subcontractor payment certificates
  • Submit monthly CIS subcontractor returns
  • Set up new accounts for subcontractors
  • Supporting with queries following up payments

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience on the AP process from start to finish
  • Experience in Construction
  • Working with CIS and Subcontractors
  • Exceptional teamwork experience
