As a
Corporate Health, Safety and Security Advisor at HS2 you will be responsible for the maintenance and review of HS2's Health and Safety policies and procedures; ensuring they are compliant with statute, while meeting the needs of HS2 corporate functions and operational delivery stakeholders.

As a Subject Matter Expert, the Corporate HSS Advisor also provides advice, coaching and support to HS2's corporate functions in matters of health and safety.


About the role

  • Maintenance of the HS2 Health and Safety Management System.
  • Maintenance of the HSS Legal register.
  • Take part in supplier procurement activities as and when required by HS
  • Maintain dashboard information for Risk, HSS project work and other Management Information required by the Corporate HSS Team.
  • Provide health and safety performance reports for Corporate Functions as necessary.
  • Provision of SME professional advice and business partner support to HS2 corporate functions where required.
  • Support and provide training, briefing and coaching to corporate functions on health and safety requirements as required.
  • Maintenance of the Corporate HSS Assurance Plan
  • Undertake assurance as identified in the Corporate HSS Assurance Plan and hold action holders to account for delivery of improvements.
  • Support corporate functions with the completion of, and / or undertake Incident investigations as required.
  • Role model and embed our Safe at heart ethos within the corporate functions

About You:


  • Review, write and edit written information effectively and accurately, in particular policy and procedure.
  • Project administration and management skills
  • Experience of incident investigations, supporting and coaching those undertaking investigations and closing out of investigations
  • Experiencing of working with supply chain, complex joint ventures, alliances, stakeholder groups / matrix organisations.
