In addition to its specialist machining services, Pipe Cutting Machine manufacture, GMS offers rental equipment and has an extensive suite to meet customer's requirements.


Furthermore, an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a highly competent and experienced Administrator to join our team based in Glasgow area.


Main duties and responsibilities:


  • Manage monthly ERP processes. (Work orders, sales orders, purchasing, expenses, allocation, and invoicing)
  • Administer the booking of employee travel and accommodation, as required
  • Provide general support to GMS management team
  • Maintenance of shop floor timesheets and overtime.
  • Administration support to the operations office including making enquiries, purchasing, goods receipting, and liaising with suppliers.
  • Assist with stock control, calibration records, training, and work in progress.
  • Support operations team with appropriate quality management practices ensuring client requirements and specifications are met.
  • Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, scanning etc.
  • Track stock of office supplies and place orders where necessary.
  • Manage PPE stock and source where required.
  • Documentation control for both internal & external documentation.
  • Comply with all company procedures and policies.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience of using an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be beneficial.
  • Previous administration experience, preferably in an engineering environment
  • Qualifications in office administration would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, multitask and consistently meet strict deadlines.
  • First rate communication, organisation, and team player skills.
  • Demonstrable analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly within a reactive operations team.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload.
  • IT literate with specific experience using Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint programs.
