Activity Group Co-ordinator (Part-time, FTC)- Home based with travel within Dundee
- Overview
- We are currently seeking an Activity Group Coordinator to join us on a parttime basis working 20 hours per week, for a fixed term contract until 31 March 202
- The Role
- As an Activity Group Coordinator, you will facilitate the delivery of activity and support groups for people in Dundee living with dementia and their carers and/or families.
- Supporting the Service Manager, you will plan and deliver regular groups across the region and create and deliver a wide range of activities.
- You will prepare and set up sessions, processing and supporting new referrals to the groups, as well as seeking feedback from those attendees and adjusting group delivery accordingly.
- Your role will also involve:
- Preparing, setting up and closing down each session
- Arranging refreshments and/or meals for the groups
- Performing a range of administrative duties
- Receiving and actioning referrals
- This is a parttime position, working 20 hours per week across 34 days.
- There may also be opportunities for paid overtime in busy periods or to cover absences.
- What you'll need
- Experience of working with people living with dementia and/or their carers
- Experience of delivering activities within a group setting
- Knowledge of dementia
- An understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for people living with dementia
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organisational and facilitation skills
- A full, valid drivers licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance (milage paid)
