We are delighted to be assisting our successful accountancy firm client to find a new Semi Senior Accountant to join their team based in Leeds city centre.

This permanent role offers hybrid working, study support where required, plus excellent benefits andcareer prospects.


The role will include:

  • Supporting a Senior Accountant in the management of a largescale client
  • Dealing with supplier and customer finance/administrative queries
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC
  • Preparing statutory accounts in readiness for management approval
  • Filing/submitting prepared company accounts to Companies House
  • Income tax and corporate tax computations and administration
  • Liaising with HMRC regarding corporate tax affairs
  • Reconciling client bank statements, purchase and sales ledgers, VAT and PAYE/wages
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register
  • Dealing with client correspondence and administration
  • Liaising with colleagues in other departments where required.
  • AAT Qualified or ACA/ACCA Part Qualified
  • Experienced in VAT with an understanding of partial exemption rules
  • Comfortable working to deadlines using high level attention to detail
  • Professional and helpful in approach
  • Highly organised and methodical
  • Logical with excellent problemsolving ability
  • Curious and willing to learn
  • A team player who is also able to work independently
  • An excellent communicator at all levels (written and verbal)
  • Full of initiative and able to effectively manage own workload
  • IT confident with experience in MS Office and financial software
  • Committed to developing a career within a professional practice environment.
