We are looking for a Product Lead
to support Informatics team at Southampton General.


The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust provides services to 1.9 million people living in Southampton and south Hampshire, while also providing specialist services such as neurosciences, cardiac services, and children's intensive care to the wider area.


The Trust is made up of 6 locations with Southampton General Hospital being the largest, running specialist services, emergency, and critical care along with outpatient clinics, diagnostic and treatment work, surgery, research, education and training.

This is a large and busy site.

We have a placement available for
Product Lead work remotly for an _ASAP start and initially for 6 months with possible extension.

_

  • If you're not already on the bank you will need to be able to provide a reference covering a 6month period of employment within the last 3 years_.
The working hours are
37.5 hours per week.


Monday - Friday
This is between
Band 6-8 depends on experiences, the pay rate is from
£17.24 -
£24.82 per hour.


In particular, the role holder will:

  • This role is responsible for leading and supporting the HICSS operational team ensuring operational effectiveness of the Trust's HICSS Systems. Interpreting complex clinical, user and patient requirements for solutions within the HICSS Systems.
  • The post holder will lead the product team in delivery of new software modules and the support of the existing service.
  • The post holder will work with Principal Analysts and project managers to ensure timely delivery of all prioritised development work.
  • The post holder will develop and maintain operational and development processes that will take appropriate consideration of clinical safety and data protection requirements and legislation
  • The post holder with support the team in the appropriate management of all operational issues
  • The post holder will work to continually improve processes and highlight opportunities for improvements to the platform
  • The post holder will take the lead on all aspects of user experience on the platform and the creation of assets that can be used by the development team
  • The post holder will also be actively involved in product specialist development and support work, providing second line operational support as required.
  • Take a lead in the HICSS Commercial team on maintaining and developing the product
  • The post holder will lead on the monitoring, reporting and analysis of system activity, supporting all required reporting.
  • Testing and implementation of regular software updates.

General Duties:

1.
Process management
1.1 Develop and maintain appropriate development processes and ensure that the team are working to these processes

1.2 Develop and maintain appropriate operational processes and ensure that the team are working to these processes

1.3 Continue to iterate these processes based on learning and feedback from the team and wider stakeholders


2.
Service Development
2.1 Lead on development of new or updated modules as prioritised by the Trust, working with clinical teams (and sometimes patients or patient reps) to meet their requirements

2.2 Working with line manager, developers and suppliers to achieve the best strategic, cost optimised solutions

2.3 Take the lead on all aspects of user experience, creating assets for developers to use

2.4 Take responsibility for ensuring consistency in design and development across the entire product suite

2.5 Identify opportunities for improving the service and feed these in to the governance process on service developments.


3.
Operational Support
3.1 Support the team in the appropriate management of all operational issues

3.2 Provide 2nd line operational support to HICSS principal analysts dealing with queries from patients and clinical teams


3.3 Train and mentor new members of HICSS team and deliver specialist training, where required, to other staff within the Trust.

3.4 Handle customer queries appropriately in line with data protection law and Trust governance/Caldicott standards

System Testing
4.2 Participate in new software roll outs, supporting staff and managing appropriate communications (as per communication plan)

4.3 Test all changes appropriately as per internal testing process.

4.4 Ensure changes are applied and run correctly against all pathway instances.


5.
Reporting
5.1 Take the lead in monitoring/analysis of system activity

5.2 Analyse sometimes complex system activity data, compiling disparate data sets (Google Analytics, SQL server reporting) to highlight service levels, potential issues and opportunities for improvements
