Currently based in Leeds, Bradford, and rapidly growing into other areas.
We're looking for a Forest School Leader/Outdoor Education Instructor to join our core team and to support the implementation of our vision across our growing network.
- Passionate about outdoor learning and play.
- Loves working outdoors in all weathers and genuinely wants to be outdoors all day, all year round.
- Loves working with young children and cares first and foremost about their emotional and physical wellbeing.
- Understands the importance of keeping children safe and of helping create a safe environment through good safeguarding practices.
- Is good at talking with young children in a way that engages and values them and promotes and extends their learning.
- Will promote the values and ethos of GoWild Outdoors through their interactions with everyone children, parents, other staff, people we meet in the woods etc.
- Can be positive, enthusiastic and professional every day they come to work.
- Is organised and able to work effectively as part of a team, and who will follow policies and carry out duties and planned activities reliably and to a high standard every time.
- Is proactive and assumes responsibility without needing to be asked, and, if necessary, has the ability to lead and motivate others in a particular aspect of the provision.
Skills Required:
Essential:
- Level 3 Forest School Leader or Level 3 equivalent
- Organise resources and have effective selftime management skills.
- To be able to plan, prepare and deliver purposeful and productive activities for children.
- Ability to work with a range of children & adults.
- Desire to improve oneself and build upon an established reputation.
- Select and use a range of different resources and teaching styles, appropriate to the outdoor learning experience.
- Promote positive management of behaviour in the Forest School environment, establish routines and boundaries to ensure the safety and good behaviour of the children.
- Be flexible and adaptable and including the changing environment when working with schools etc.
- Work independently and effectively with large groups.
Desirable:
- Other outdoor qualifications either to support the delivery of Forest School or other areas of outdoor education and learning.
- Previous experience of delivering outdoor education provision.
- A positive approach to continuous professional development.
- Ability and experience of working with adults.
- To work with SEND children and adults.
- Outdoor First Aid trained.

- Certified training in other areas for outdoor learning.

Salary:
£10.42-£16.00 per hour
