Description
Are you an electrical or mechanical technician, or engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you want to work for a local company that is part of a global organisation?

At Essity we want to improve the lives of 2 billion people every day. We want to continue to break down barriers.

If you are a driven individual and want to keep developing then Essity, as a leading global FMCG organisation can help you on your journey.

We have five manufacturing sites across the North West and North Wales specialising in the production of tissue and towel products.

We are looking for technicians and engineers with a specialism in either Mechanical or Electrical & Instrumentation engineering to join our teams.

About the Role / What you will do

Our ethos is to fix things for good and ensure our paper machines and converting lines work as efficiently as possible to maintain 24/7 production.

As a Shift Technician you will use your technical expertise to maintain and improve the day to day operational efficiency of our machines by following a cycle of predictive and preventative maintenance.

You will solve problems quickly and effectively to support the overall aim of hitting key performance indicators (KPI's) and stretch targets.

You will work to a continuous improvement methodology, so you will need to be solutions-focused and have worked previously to resolve issues using a root cause analysis approach.

You will be a key member of the shift team working closely with colleagues to ensure production runs smoothly, coaching colleagues where required, reporting any faults, finding solutions and 'fixing for good'.

When on night shift, you will be the technical expert on site, and during the day shifts you will be working closely with the day technical support team, including involvement in meetings and scheduled maintenance activities.

As a day-based Technician you will play an active part in daily direction setting meetings, troubleshoot technical issues and contribute and take the lead with continuous improvement initiatives to support our longer-term development plans.

You will be a critical member of the team during site shut-downs when both your planning and technical abilities will be utilised to ensure planned maintenance activities are delivered to budget and on time.

Key to the role will be the support you provide to shift teams by getting involved with hands on engineering, sharing both your knowledge and expertise.

We're looking for people who embody our values, aren't afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace.

We're always looking for ways to improve our products and ourselves. If this is you, we'd love to hear from you.

Who You Are

We would be interested to hear from you if you have;
A minimum level 3 qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering together with relevant experience
An HNC level qualification in either mechanical or electrical engineering (desirable)
In depth technical knowledge in your field
A results focused approach with proven analytical skills
The ability to work using your own initiative and unsupervised
Confidence in communicating with a wide range of people
Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to take the lead
Knowledge of SAP (desirable) combined with computer literacy

We are passionate about safety; this is first and foremost in everything we do. It goes without saying that you too will share our passion.
