We have a major opportunity for an
Associate Director Enterprise Solutions to establish and lead a new unit within the Wellcome Sanger Institute, developing and supporting all the enterprise systems required to run a world-class institution.


About the role:


You will be responsible for:

You will be managing customer/stakeholder/supplier relationships, including with other Wellcome-related organisations our rapidly growing campus.


About You:

You will be ableto communicate and influence at all levels, including board members, in a complex stakeholder landscape. You will be able to energise individuals, forming and leading high-performing teams.

This is a great opportunity for you to provide excellent strategic thinking, leading on the development and delivery of organisation-wide strategies and technology roadmaps.

You will have proven experience in being able to lead organisations through change and transformation.


About Us:

The Wellcome Sanger Institute is a world leading genomics research centre. We undertake large-scale research that forms the foundations of knowledge in biology and medicine. We are open and collaborative; we share our data, results, tools and technologies across the world to advance science. Our findings are used to improve health and to understand life on Earth.


Our science is large-scale and organised into research Programmes, led by our Faculty who conceive and deliver our science, and supported by our Scientific Operations and IT teams responsible for all data production pipelines, compute and storage facilities at the Institute.


Essential technical skills:


  • Experience of managing large scale enterprise IT estates
  • Experience of delivering large enterprise solutions
  • A proven track record in developing and implementing successful strategies and roadmaps

  • Able to communicate and influence at all levels, including board members, in a complex stakeholder landscape
  • Able to energise individuals, forming and leading highperforming teams

We support flexible and hybrid working, although we would anticipate that this role would need to be on-site at least two days per week.


Salary range:
£90,000 upwards dependant on skills and experience
