Support Worker/HCA's needed for SEN Teaching Assistant positions

We are seeking someone from a care background to work as a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a well-established SEN school in Croydon


This is a rewarding opportunity to support and empower children with PMLD, SLD, ASD, communication and behavioural difficulties and specific medical needs, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone support and assistance to children PMLD or behavioural difficulties.
  • Be able to assist with all aspects of personal care.
  • Support students in developing social and communication skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective coordination and delivery of support.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in individualized education planning.

What we are looking for:

Relevant experience working with children or adults with Special Educational Needs (SEND) is essential. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate children effectively. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students in a dynamic classroom environment.
