Streamline Search are currently working in tandem with a highly reputable, family-run global freight forwarding business with over 30 years of trading successfully within the market.
Our client is actively seeking a Freight Forwarder with experience relating the EU both on imports and exports.(Freight Forwarder - EU) - Position Overview
As a Freight Forwarder, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of goods across international borders while providing exceptional customer service to client's customers.
- Handle endtoend freight forwarding operations for imports and exports to and from the European Union.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers, and carriers to arrange shipments, ensuring timely and costeffective delivery.
- Prepare and process all required import and export documentation, including customs declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Ensure compliance with EU customs regulations, trade laws, and any specific requirements related to the transported goods.
- Monitor and track shipments, keeping clients informed of the progress and addressing any issues or delays.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing professional and proactive customer service.
- Understand clients' specific requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their logistics needs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify opportunities for upselling or crossselling additional freight forwarding services to existing clients.
- Collaborate with trusted suppliers and carriers to negotiate competitive rates and secure capacity for shipments.
- Evaluate and select reliable transportation providers based on their capabilities, network coverage, and compliance standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Continuously assess and optimize the supply chain to enhance efficiency and costeffectiveness.
(Freight Forwarder - EU) - Position Requirements
- Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder with a focus on EU imports and exports.
- Sound knowledge of EU customs regulations, trade compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with industryspecific terms and processes such as Incoterms, Bill of Lading, and Harmonized System codes.
- Strong understanding of international logistics, supply chain management, and freight forwarding operations.
- Proficient in using freight management systems and software for shipment tracking and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Detailoriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Problemsolving skills to address issues related to customs clearance, transportation, and client requirements.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
(Freight Forwarder - EU) - Position Remuneration
- Salary: Circa £30, Dependant on experience)
