The role


This is an exciting time to join The Open University with multiple opportunities for anyone interested in a key role supporting the People Services teams with the technical delivery, configuration, analysis and workflow of new and old systems.

These are key roles in the team supporting the maintenance of HR systems through regular business activities, delivering and supporting system enhancements and change activity whilst ensuring all processes and procedural documentation is aligned for use by the service delivery teams.

The team is organised, great at building relationships and love to drive People Systems and service improvement.

People Services is committed to providing The Open University with high quality people solutions and is valued for its efficiency, expertise, partnering capability and service.

The Systems Team provides the day-to-day functional support to all users of all people systems, particularly SuccessFactors Employee Central.


The team enables the efficient delivery of, and continuous improvements to, the operational delivery of People Services processes, and support the OU organisational design and structure.

It's an exciting time to join the Systems team, and the main purpose of the Systems Coordinator role is to be constantly delivering and managing high levels of people change, using People Services systems, technology, digitalization and improved ways of working with minimum business impacts.

It will work with the team to support process documentation, process improvement and People Services change activity and workstreams in collaboration with the service line owners.


Skills and experience

  • Do you enjoy the challenge of exploring Systems related problems, working with the business to understand their needs, and finding suitable technical solutions?
  • Are you a commercially aware individual with excellent communication skills and a background in system process improvement or change activity? Can you drive delivery to meet KPIs and SLAs ensuring contractual obligations are met?
