Learning Mentor


We are seeking compassionate and driven individuals who are eager to make a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

No prior experience is required; we are dedicated to providing comprehensive training to help you succeed.


Responsibilities:


  • Deliver personalized learning to students aged 16 to 25, tailoring education packages to their unique needs.
  • Provide oneonone instruction and occasionally lead small group sessions.
  • Work independently in the community to support students in achieving their learning outcomes.
  • Administer and maintain accurate records for individual students.
  • Foster a culture of high expectations aligned with ROC College's ethos.

Key Requirements:


  • Collaborate with a team to deliver tailored curriculums to students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Empower students to lead independent lives and pursue their aspirations.
  • Understand individual students' Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and facilitate the identified outcomes.
  • Encourage students to engage in community activities and maximize their potential.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and College objectives.
  • Manage challenging behaviors using agreed deescalation techniques.
  • Support students in areas such as finance, housekeeping, health, relationships, and daily activities.
  • Attend mandatory training and professional development opportunities.
  • Explore innovative learning experiences and utilize community facilities.
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance activities and attend team and 1on1 meetings.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including reporting incidents.
  • Provide support for personal care and specific health needs if required.
  • Deliver individualized lessons and incorporate Math and English skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Promote student engagement, care, and support during teaching sessions.
  • Maintain motivation and hold high expectations for student progress.
  • Advocate for students and support their voices to be heard.
  • Safeguard student welfare and report concerns following ROC College procedures.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
  • Actively participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Follow GDPR and data protection regulations.
  • Fulfill other reasonable duties assigned by the College Management Team.
You will be expected and contracted to work for 38 weeks of each academic year.

Mentoring times may vary within the day but will include 1 hour at the end of the day where Quality Assurance expectations will be completed.

In addition, you will be expected to attend 10 days of inset training for CPD and training.


Driving ability is required.

£19,222.50 per year
