Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced support workers to join our team and be part of an existing established home.

They must share our passion in providing a nurturing and supportive approach to their care, whilst promoting and maintaining our expectation of high standards and good practices.


The Home
The children's home is in Greenford and provides accommodation to 3 children/young people of both genders and ages 12-17 with EBD


The Shifts
We are looking for staff who are able to work a minimum of 12 hours shifts.

The Individual Requirements


Ability to take responsibility as a Support Worker for an allocated young person and provide positive role modelling, encouraging them to have healthy relationships and enabling them to build trust.


Follow each Individual Behaviour Management Plan, Risk Assessment and Care Plan to safeguard our young people and encourage them to behave in a socially acceptable manner.

To have a flexible approach to working hours, to ensure the needs of the home and its children, colleagues, and organisation are met


To hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, would be desirable, otherwise must be willing to complete this qualification.

Previous experience of working with young people would be desirable.

Experience of working with Young people affected by traumatic experiences and challenging behaviours, is desired.


Responsibilities of Support Worker
Ensure children are safeguarded and their views and wishes heard

Motivate and engage young people in group activities.

Ability to build strong relationships with the young people in our care.

Ability to facilitate the young person's recreational needs, daily independent living skills and to promote their emotional wellbeing.

Maintain written records and write reports.

Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure satisfactory references checks.


Salary:
£11.00-£12.00 per hour

  • Weekend availability

Education:


  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

Experience:

Residential Childcare: 1 year (required)
Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)


Licence/Certification:

  • NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (required)
