Band - Specialist CAMHS Practitioner Front Door Team - NDT or E&B


We are pleased to announce the recruitment of 1 x WTE 12-month fixed term Band 7 post within our Front Door Team (FDT) and in either the Neurological Developmental Team (NDT) or Emotional & Behavioural Pathway (E&B).

The clinical role will be split 3:- FDT 3 session and E&B/NDT 7 Sessions.


We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced and motivated CAMHS Clinicians with a passion for working with young people within our Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties Team (E&B) or our Neurological Developmental Team (NDT) alongside this you will have an essential role working within the Newham CAMHS Intake (Front Door) Team (FDT).


You will be part of two busy and dynamic pathways E&B, which provides a CAMHS service for young people with a wide variety of mood, anxiety and difficulties with managing behavioural expectations and the NDT where post holder will be expected to conduct specialist CAMHS assessments for a variety of mental health conditions as well as for children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ASC, ADHD, both with or without learning disabilities, offering evidenced based clinical interventions.


This is a busy, interesting, and varied role working with children and their families at the point of referral and within Core CAMHS treatment pathways.

As a Psychologist, Family Therapist or Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist you will receive regular professional and clinical supervision for your work.

Newham CAMHS is a multi-disciplinary team with a Care Pathway model of service delivery.

The team consists of Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Specialist Mental Health Nurses, Child & Adolescent Psychotherapists, Family Therapists and Administrative staff who are committed to developing innovative and effective ways of working.


The community served is multi-ethnic and culturally diverse and we welcome applicants who are skilled at working with the richness and complexity of this multicultural context.

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service is part of the Specialist Services Directorate in the East London NHS Foundation Trust, rated an Outstanding Trust by the Care Quality Commission.

There are good links with Education, Children's Social Care and voluntary sector organisations locally.


The role will involve working within the FDT, where our new referrals are processed, along with the delivery of triage assessments, workshops and online self-help resources.


You will be working with creative and dedicated staff in both pathways and have the opportunity to work at the very heart of Newham CAMHS as well as being provided with opportunities for community-based working.
