Permanent - Birmingham


Temporary 6 months - Coventry

Full time 37 hours in line with rota pattern working Monday to Thursday 8:00-16:00 or 10:00-18:00 and Friday 8:00-15:30 or 10:30-18:00

Reporting to the Maintenance Planning Manager, the Maintenance Planner will contribute to the provision of customer focussed end to end operational and administrative support to a team of Trade Engineers, Supervisors, Surveyors and Managers.


In housing you can make a real difference, the role of Maintenance Planner will involve:

  • Planning and managing repairs appointments for the day-to-day trade's engineers and customers, ensuring all appointments are attended to within timescale and in line with our procedures.
  • Raising, appointing and completion of all works orders in line with our processes and procedures using DRS (dynamic resource scheduling software), our external contractor portal and our inhouse management system Active H.
  • Raising works orders and purchase orders to contractors and suppliers supporting the maintenance operation.
  • Ensuring effective communication and cooperation between the maintenance planning team, Maintenance Operation's Supervision / Management / Technical Support, external and internal clients, contractors, suppliers, the Customer Service Centre and other stakeholders.
  • Working closely with our customer service centre, taking telephone calls and supporting customer repair enquiries both over the telephone and through our tasking systems
  • Ensuring customers are kept informed of progress with repairs and related enquiries
  • To generate reports and interrogate data to identify inefficiencies, inaccuracies and trends and to ensure that records are accurate and auditable.
  • To encourage the resolution of firsttime fixes and to ensure necessary followon works are raised and /resolved effectively.

As a Maintenance Planner we need you to have:

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbally
  • The ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • The ability to mediate in difficult situations
  • The ability to work on your own initiative
  • To be open and adaptable to change
