About the role:

AAK are seeking to appoint an Electrical Engineer to join the Maintenance team at Site Hull. This is a Monday to Friday, days role and will report into the Site Maintenance Manager.

The Electrical Engineer will play a key part in the ongoing drive to transform the maintenance department into a high performing and effective function, fit for a business of this size and one that is capable of continuing in line with the ongoing growth ofthe business.

The role will be responsible for the Electrical, Automation and Instrumentation strategy for the Hull site.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and support an excellent safety culture and behaviour to ensure safety is of the highest priority.
  • Proactive focus on risk assessments, managing issues and ensuring that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met to significantly reduce potential exposure to health & safety issues.
  • Actively support the AAK Hull Reliability strategy implementation for the maintenance department.
  • Support the maintenance team transition from reactive to a highly proactive inclusive team culture.
  • Support and develop the electrical maintenance team ensuring they have the resources, skills and support required to deliver operational objectives.
  • Provide support and direction for the Maintenance Technicians to take ownership, bring up to standard and maintain the MCC & switchgear panel rooms.
  • Provide clear and visible leadership to the electrical engineering function to drive good governance and high standards of execution.
  • Drive and implement electrical engineering best practice and improvement projects to ensure the Hull maintenance team provide a continuously improving service.
  • Support the effective collaboration of the Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Scheduler, Engineering Stores, CMMS admin & Condition monitoring Engineer.
  • Provide cross functional support to other areas, e.g., Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Production, Projects.
  • Engage with Projects at early stage to ensure that Electrical Standards are considered in the design phase and once design is finalised, electrical spare part & instrument requirements are studied to allow for timely ordering.
  • Use and support the development of the company's CMMS (Shire Systems) to ensure data standardisation and accuracy in order to monitor asset and team performance and identify areas of improvement.
  • Effectively use the CMMS data and Hull site Reliability metrics to support the continuous improvement of the maintenance reliability culture to deliver excellence in reliability and availability.
  • Support systems & processes for preventative and predictive maintenance thus reducing the occurrence of unplanned downtime of the site's assets and equipment to improve availability and performance as measured by OEE.

About you

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering field is essential
  • Previous experience with a proven track record in a similar level position, with Automation/PLC experience is essential
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Criticality, FMEA, RCA, RCM) essential
  • HV Safe Operation essential
  • NEBOSH Certification desirable
  • Member or working towards membership if a recognised institution e.g. IET, IAM, CMRP, etc desirable
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilise tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data effectively.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques of root cause analysis (RCA).
