Coppice Alupack, part of the EP Group, is an international supplier of aluminium packaging to the food manufacturing processing and baking industries.

We are currently recruiting a Product Designer.


To deliver market-leading, creative product & packaging solutions which deliver commercial value to the group through; Revenue through sales of new products, and/or; leverage of new business through 'door opening' new products, and/or; enhanced revenue of existing products through focused and creative sales support.


Responsibilities:


  • Delivering Internationalled customerrequested product and packaging design as the primary service of Coppice, providing directcustomer support (i.e calls, site visits, meetings etc) when required. This will involve overseas / international travel
  • Delivering proactive product and packaging design as the secondary service of Coppice, providing strategic product development across targeted sectors
  • Ensuring an awareness of leading technologies and trends, including; software intelligence, retailer and product trends, new material developments and packaging legislation
  • Delivering graphic design, photography, artwork and sales/marketing support where required, including market and competitor reviews
  • Manage assigned projects and ensure delivery on time, to brief
  • Be time and cost aware, ensuring an efficient management of own workload

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience within a product design and development role
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Retail Sector
  • Trained in Product/Industrial/Engineering Design (Degree level preferable)
  • An ability to creatively problem solve across a range of sectors, and effectively communicate potential solutions accordingly
  • An understanding of manufacturing processes within the packaging sector (including flexible film, paper and board conversion techniques)
  • Strong product design background
  • Strong graphic design background
  • Knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software preferable
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sound ability to manage own workload and time
  • Confident communication skills with colleagues and customers
  • A consciousness and aim to deliver work to the highest standards
  • Works well under pressure, with an ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
You will need to be able to travel to Blackmill, Bridgend, CF35 6EQ daily.
