Assistant Management Accountant

Office based - Whetstone LE8 6NU


Our client is an expert in high-performance syntactic materials for a wide range of industries including automotive, aerospace, foundry, manufacturing, marine, motorsport, rail and subsea.

The role of
Assistant Management Accountant is to support the Financial Controller in the day-to-day accounting functions. Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting. Maintain the Stock and Fixed Assets records.


About the Role

  • Produce Monthly Flash Report and margin analysis
  • Prepare weekly KPIs
  • Prepare monthly reports and reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile the Fixed Asset register on a monthly basis.
  • Perform month end tasks, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Liaise with Stock Controller to coordinate monthly stocktake activities and analyse all variances.
  • Maintain all stock records, update obsolete stock, reconcile and issue relevant monthly report
  • Review daily Epoxy and PU Margin reports and query variances with BDMs
  • Audit the Transport Register on a weekly basis and provide monthly variance analysis to the Sales Team
  • Provide cover for daily Sales & Margin Reports
  • Assist with Processing invoices, resolving queries with suppliers and reconciling supplier statements.
  • Provide cover and support to the other members of the department in all aspects of their roles, as required.

  • AAT qualified
  • 34 years within a commercial account's environment, min of 2 years within a manufacturing business
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Demonstrable experience in margin, costing and stock management
  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, IF statements, lookups)
  • Sage 50 experience

Desirable

  • CIMA or ACCA qualified, or partqualified
  • Knowledge of Power BI reports
  • Sage Payroll would be useful (for emergency cover)
