This role forms part of the Sonepar UK people team, specifically focussed on Routeco' s UK and European entities in the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland.


The UK People team work together and alongside Sonepar Group HR ensuring that Sonepar and their UK Operating Companies attracts, develops, and retains the best talent, to ensure that our culture promotes high levels of associate engagement inclusion and wellbeing.


  • You will be the champion of global and Routeco Group people initiatives across Europe promoting consistency of systems and processes in support of our associates.
  • You will work alongside our UK people team to support the UK and European leadership team and any local HR resource helping to guide and advise with recruitment, training, compensation and benefits and any team related questions.
  • You will collaborate with your peers across the other Sonepar European people teams to leverage on best practise and ensure high level of service is delivered
  • Developing meaningful relationships with the European Leadership Team and Local HR resource by demonstrating a valueadd Business Partner approach
  • Be able to clearly articulate how the people strategic objectives drive high levels of associate engagement impacting on both the performance and growth of the business.
  • Keep up to date and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements in Routeco' s European entities
  • To be able to maintain indepth knowledge of legal requirements related to daytoday management of team members, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with the local legal advisers as needed/required.
  • Contribute to developing people data which forms part of quarterly and annual reporting with trends, metrics and KPIs.
  • Be the first pointofcontact for performance management questions and participate in the development and cascade of global performance management policy, process, templates, and guidelines.
  • Regularly support managers to undertake 'stay' interviews with their team members, conduct and capture trends from exit interviews for team members completing service with Routeco. Share the trends quarterly with the European Leaders
  • Provide guidance and input on talent acquisition, talent development and succession planning.
  • Coordinate the administration of the European benefits portfolio and ensure all staff in all European jurisdictions have access to any Group Routeco benefits as well as meeting legal compliance requirements for all employees in their jurisdictions
  • Promoting associate wellbeing, D&I and Purpose initiatives, ensuring links to Routeco Group but being sensitive to cultural/local needs.
  • Coordinate with finance to ensure payroll is processed for each European entities in a timely manner.
  • Support the biannual commitment to benchmark pay bands and salaries to ensure staff salaries and benefits remain competitive with the market and bring in new innovations around benefits to remain a leading employer of people in Europe.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING TO SONEPAR?

  • You must have a minimum of five years of experience working in Human Resources, including Talent Acquisition, Benefits and Compensation.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices in the UK and wider European context
  • Experience supporting multiple European countries; preferred
  • BA/BS in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred.
  • Graduate CIPD
  • You must be fluent in English language, Bilingual / multilingual preferred (French, German, Dutch)
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Demonstrated experience working to solve emergency and crisis situations, as they relate to Human Resource best practices and People related coordination.
  • A historically demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload in a remote work arrangement. Able to maintain operational consistency with other team members and actively keep management informed.
  • Proven experience and intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as the ability to navigate the Internet/intranet
