If you have experience of successfully contributing to the effective management of projects then Leicestershire Police have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Project Officer to work within the Violence and Complex Crime Unit, based at Force Headquarters, on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that sound project methodology is applied to VCCU violence prevention and problem solving projects to meet the requirements of key stakeholders including VCCU senior leads, the Home Office and other funding agencies.
  • Production of delivery plans, quarterly returns and the provision of daytoday guidance for project teams ensuring communication is maintained between all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring all objectives are identified and met, and benefits realised from the implementation of projects.

The must haves

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or have substantial equivalent experience in a relevant field of policing, and/or multiagency working.
  • To hold a PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management qualification /be prepared to undergo training to work at this level.
  • Experience of successfully contributing to the effective management of projects including managing multiple work streams within challenging timescales.
  • Experience of communicating with and reporting to senior stakeholders from a wide range of organisations to deliver strategic aims.
  • Experience managing substantial budgets and funding streams ensuring projects are delivered within budget with best value achieved.

Salary - £36,996-£39,036 per annum (SO2 SCP 28-30)


For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
