Job Title Community Support Worker (CSW)


Responsible to Managing Director (MD)


Location The post holder may be required to work at any establishment at any time throughout the duration of their employment, normally within the locations of
Together We Grow or as set out under the terms of their contract.


Accountability


Assist the Managing Director to be fully accountable for the Together We Grow Into Employment Programme, including to be fully accountable for the performance management of contractual key performance indicators and qualitative and quantitative delivery within this portfolio.


Ensure you take ownership and accountability for the areas of responsibility within your remit as detailed in this Job Description and any appendices therein.

We Grow portfolio.


Purpose of Job
To further develop the Together We Grow Pathways into Work programme in

Colchester, providing support, training, and coaching to clients and linking clients to resources and opportunities available in the local community.


Developing sustainable relationships with partners, including but not limited to, volunteers, charities, the Department of Work and Pensions, employers, and teams within the Integrated Care Board and other statutory bodies.

To support the development of bids and business cases to create sustainability for the programme, including raising awareness at a local and national level.


To enable clients to engage with the programme within their community through activities and actions that develop and maintain their self-esteem and skills, through accessible resources and opportunities.


To provide business support to the work programme including developing project plans, reporting on milestones, inputting data and information into monitoring systems and developing case studies.


Maintain and enhance the Together We Grow position in providing therapeutic horticultural-based interventions to clients and assist in further developing the work of the organisation and its programmes of work.


Responsibilities and Duties:


Act on referrals from the wider team and partners to engage with clients to understand their employment history, skills and ambitions for work in the UK.


Line manage and act as a mentor to the Community Support Worker Volunteer, providing meaningful opportunities for them to gain skills and develop as part of the programme.


Design, commission and coordinate a comprehensive suite of growing into-work offers that are accessible to the client group enabling them to gain the knowledge they need to progress into employment.


Provide signposting to clients enabling them to navigate sometimes complex situations, while being cognisant of the need to reduce dependency on the programme.


Evaluate interventions by gaining feedback from clients and partners, including employers to enable the programme of activities to be continuously improved.


Create a project plan and project monitoring and reporting system that is simple understood by other members of the team.

Providing updates and highlighting any slippage in milestones as appropriate.


Whilst not responsible for the budget aligned to the programme of work, be aware of financial position and be able to communicate and report financial situation as required by line manager.

Represent Together We Grow at meetings as delegated.

Behave in a way that creates a welcoming and safe environment for clients to engage with the programme

Remain vigilant and flag any concerns that you may have about the client's wellbeing as part of your interaction with them.


Scope potential employers in the local area and create a network approach to linking clients to potential work opportunities, shadowing, taster days and volunteering.

Review, prepare and write funding bids.

Maximise opportunities for generating income from all appropriate funding bodies
(where appropriate commercial sponsorship and partnership).


Work with partners to address unmet needs, including but not limited to, establishing networks, sourcing, and adopting policies and procedures and administering funding streams on behalf of statutory partners as appropriate.

Undertake research of designated topics, i.e., funding opportunities, local policy, as required.

Prepare, write, and present monitoring and evaluation reports and case studies for appropriate internal and external stakeholders.


Keep abreast of current social, economic, political, environmental, legal, and other trends and developments which are likely to influence the work of the Programme and provide information on these.
