An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time administrative assistant to join the team at our Physiotherapy and Podiatry Department at College Green, Northfield.

The role involves working on reception as part of the Therapy Services Team and deal with all patients and visitors to the department.

As a member of the Administrative Team you would carry out day to day administrative duties for the department, including dealing with calls and correspondence from patients, consultants, GP's and other healthcare providers.

As part of this role you would also be working within the MSK Admin Team at the main Royal Orthopaedic Hospital site when required.


The working hours for this role are Monday 12:00 until 20:00, Friday 09:00 until 17:00 with the remaining hours being worked on a flexible basis weekly to cover the needs of the service.


To work on reception as part of the Therapy Services Team and deal with all patients and visitors to the department.

Provide clerical support for the Therapy Services Department.

Maintain the electronic therapy database for the Therapy Services Department.

Process podiatry orders using the hospital's INTEGRA system.

To receive in notes and track on the hospital's PAS system.

To maintain the MSK tracker to monitor patient movement through the 18 week pathway.

To deal politely and efficiently with all face to face and telephone enquiries to the department.


To deal with distressed, emotional or difficult patients over the telephone and face to face in a calm and professional manner.

Receive and transmit confidential information in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

Provide administrative support for the Therapy Services and MSK Admin Departments.

to book patient appointments and classes, liaising with patients/carers.

Register referrals received in a timely manner.

Using the 18 week tracker identify referrals on an 18 week pathway and prioritise as necessary.
