SEN Teacher:


  • Full time, January 2023 start

Vision Teaching are recruiting for an experienced SEN (ASD Specialist) Teacher to work in a "Good" all through Lewisham Special School.

The role will be on a full time basis for 2 terms in the first instance, January - July.
The school are ideally looking for teachers with Primary teaching experience, either in a mainstream or Special school context.

The school are looking for a number of teachers to cover long term absences, and are open to both full and part time posts.

**The School
**The school is based in Central South East London and caters for students aged with Social, Communication and Interaction difficulties. The majority of students at school have a diagnosis of Autism (ASD/ASC). Due to the specialism of the schoolin supporting students with Communication Delays - experience of using PECs/Makaton would be advantageous.

The Ideal SEN Teacher
The ideal SEN Teacher applicant will have previous Primary Teaching experience, ideally within KS1. You will have a strong knowledge of the UK Curriculum, as well as knowledge of Special Needs best practice.

  • You will be a qualified teacher holding QTS
  • Experience teaching students with ASD
  • Knowledge of the UK curriculum
  • Skilfully able to plan effective lessons and adapt depending on the needs of the student
  • Aware of safeguarding procedures
  • Build a rapport with the students in the class
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Calm demeanour and patient
  • The SEN teacher will have great confidence in working with students who are verbal and nonverbal

  • Experience working with children or young people who have SEND
