Account Director - Events

£45k-£50k DOE + comms

Peterborough (hybrid)


Our client is seeking a consultative and driven events professional with proven experience in growing B2B event revenue, who can help execute event strategy across the portfolio.

This is across events, awards and conferences within the transport and infrastructurespace for a fantastic enterprise, on sponsorships; stand sales; partnerships; and creative solutions, with a focus on new business acquisition.


Savvy Media are working with a leading out of home and radio media owner to find an Account Director across a transport portfolio, identifying customer marketing needs and goals, and using a truly consultative approach to provide commercial solutions thatmatch their objectives, primarily across exhibitions; conferences; and awards.


Key responsibilities:

  • Identifying needs through a customercentric, consultative approach;
  • Title; event; market; and financial management;
  • Utilising all requisite brand assets to ensure a best in class service;
  • Achieving revenue and yield targets, and giving accurate personal forecasting, supporting all other team members with this;
  • Growing client spend through management; upselling; and creating new opportunities;
  • Driving own activity levels through setting key facetoface client meetings;
  • Acting as a mentor where necessary;
  • Owning key accounts within your target market, as determined by spend and brand authority;
  • Understanding market conditions; competition; and trends, delivering addition solutions in accordance;
  • Acting as the face of the market; leading and contributing to all sales/editorial/brand meetings; and ensuring accuracy on internal systems;
  • Complying with relevant data protection guidelines.
  • Proactive in identifying new revenue opportunities and building customer loyalty;
  • Stays on trend in delivering up to date customer solutions, initiating creative thinking;
  • Using advanced sales techniques and influencing skills, with a strong foundation in product knowledge;
  • Understanding data and leveraging it to support cogent arguments that strengthen the overall value proposition;
  • Great communication and presentation skills;
  • Using internal and external research and data across the market base to ensure the right decisions are made;
  • Delivering accurate forecasting in line with business objectives.
