Acteon provides a range of industry-leading products and services to support marine and subsea projects for renewable energy, nearshore construction and oil and gas sectors across all phases of the lifecycle.

We engineer solutions and integrated services using data and knowledge-based insight across our customers' floating and fixed marine infrastructure.

The market in which Acteon operates is shifting in favour of data-driven companies.

Leading this transition, Acteon has a cross-discipline Digital team to promote development of new data-driven insights into our services and our customers' assets to drive increased performance and safety to personnel and environment.


This role will be hybrid but can be 100% remote with periodic travel to our sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transform domain expertise of technical authorities into intuitive, insightful digital products
  • Build and deploy models and data pipelines which support those and other digital services
  • Quickly prototype nascent digital concepts to build up value propositions
  • Work closely with Acteon's cloud IT Ops team to put prototypes into production
  • Establish and maintain governance processes for analytics models

  • Data science / advanced statistical analysis experience
  • Drive and ability to selfdeliver work from concept to production
  • Knowledge of cloud analytics services and infrastructure (Azure preferred)
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • PhD or Masters (thesis) degree in engineering or related field
  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or similar (or equivalent industry experience)
  • Plan, organise and prioritise work; balance skills, priorities and timescales to achieve objectives
  • Ability to fully plan, build, and deploy Azure data analytics pipelines
  • Strong desire to be a digital promoter and transformer
  • Experience developing data models to aggregate data streams and delivering semantic layers to users
  • Familiarity interacting with IOT transport protocols and REST APIs
  • Understanding of ERP systems, e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 36
  • Experience working with engineering and operations teams in marine construction, renewables, or offshore oil & gas industries
