Two full-time, permanent positions.


The Dean of Students Office is looking for two highly motivated and organised individuals, with the drive and ambition to make a positive difference to the success of students at Warwick.

You will have experience of working on projects and will be comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders. You will need to have a strong collegiate approach and be an effective team player.

This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about equal opportunities to succeed.

It is ideally suited to a creative self-starter who enjoys taking the initiative to independently progress and complete a wide variety of tasks, with guidance and support from the Senior Projects Officer and Dean of Students.

The ability to problem-solve and think imaginatively will also serve the postholders well, as there will be opportunities to shape plans moving forward.


You will play an integral part in helping to deliver the University's Education Strategy, through supporting the delivery of work around student success and inclusion.

This role is intended to maximise student success amongst students from a wide range of backgrounds - particularly those at risk of non-continuation and lower than expected degree attainment.

JOB PURPOSE


The Inclusive Education Model is central to building and maintaining a welcoming community where all students feel included and able to succeed.

We work closely with staff and students across the University to deliver the goals and objectives of the model, offer support where needed, and share good practice internally and externally.

This includes close collaboration with colleagues in departments including Social Inclusion, Widening Participation, Academic Development Centre, Education Policy and Quality and the Students' Union, as well as many other departments.

Across our diverse student population, our goals are to ensure the following for all students:

  • Inclusive extracurricular opportunities and support.
  • Inclusive communities and spaces.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scope, plan and manage project activities and deliverables against budget, ensuring that progress is maintained and monitored and agreed outcomes are delivered in a timely way.
  • Build and maintain proactive relationships with a range of stakeholders across the University in the development of short and longterm projects e.g. to design and deliver resources to support underrepresented student groups and support Faculty and institutional level work on Inclusive Education.
  • Work with and consult key stakeholders on different strands of activity to drive each project workstream forward and to take a lead in the delivery of new areas of activity where appropriate.
  • Identify and source information and data required to progress and enhance projects.
  • Exercise good prioritisation and decisionmaking skills.
  • Work directly with student and staff stakeholders to cocreate resources, guidance and other project outputs for dissemination across departments, faculties and externally.
  • Engage with, promote and facilitate the sharing of best practice internally and externally.
  • Contribute to milestone tracking/key performance indicator tracking. Write reports and presentations as needed, detailing progress against project deliverables.
  • Develop and facilitate the evaluation of projects in order to identify the impact of any work undertaken.
  • Promote equality, value diversity and act as a role model for an inclusive working culture.
  • Work in a collegiate manner that supports the wider work of the Dean of Students Office and undertake such duties appropriate with the grading of the role.
